Dr. Abhijit Banerjee is presently a Professor in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Academy of Technology (affiliated to Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology), West Bengal. He studied Electronics and Communication engineering at Institute of Radio Physics and Electronics (CU), where he was awarded a B.Tech. degree in 2003 and a M. Tech degree in 2005. His postgraduate research in Microwave Photonics was conducted at Institute of Radio Physics and Electronics (CU), where he was awarded a Ph. D (Tech.) degree in 2014. He has around 60 research articles, 01 authored books published in various esteemed journals, conference proceedings and highly reputed international publishing houses. Dr. Banerjee has guided 01 Ph. D awarded scholar.
(i) Research Interest: Dr. Banerjee's research currently focuses on the modeling and design of optoelectronic oscillator circuits for next generation networks, optical phase-lock loop and Internet of Things. Dr. Banerjee serves as a reviewer of top optics journals. The list includes but is not limited to IEEE Journal of Lightwave Technology, IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques, Optics Communications, Journal of Modern Optics, and International Journal of Light and Electron Optics., Scientific Reports, IEEE Journal of Quantum Electronics.
(ii) Administrative Activity: (a) Head of the Department, Instrumentation and Control Engineering; Applied Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering (Dec. 2011 – Feb. 2016). (b) Head of the Department, Electronics and Communication Engineering, (Mar. 2016 - Present).
